Forum held to discuss law-based governance and human rights protection

Sponsored by China Foundation for Human Rights Development (CFHRD), the forum titled "Comprehensive Law-based Governance and Human Rights Protection" was held in Hefei, Anhui Province on 21. Among the attendees were human rights experts and scholars from several renowned universities and research institutions in China, as well as active and honorary directors from CFHRD.

During the forum, experts and scholars conducted a comprehensive and systematic review of China's achievements in legal protection of human rights since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and did a comprehensive summary of the experience of legal protection of human rights in the new era, covering topics such as the full implementation of the Constitution and human rights protection, the improvement of legal system, and the international protection of human rights and the protection of human rights  for specific groups. They discussed contributions made by the socialist legal system for protecting human rights with Chinese characteristics to enriching and developing the diversity of human civilization.

Xie Fuzhan, president of CFHRD, said China has actively participated in the construction of the international human rights legal system, advanced the improvement of global human rights governance, and contributed to the progress of the world's human rights cause while vigorously advancing its own human rights development and continuously improving the legal protection of human rights.

The attendees also held discussions on enhancing people's well-being through the rule of law, legal protection of human rights in emerging fields, the development of legal frameworks related to foreign affairs and other hot topics.
