2025-11-26

The 13th China-U.S. Symposium on Justice and Human Rights was jointly held by the China Foundation for Human Rights Development (CFHRD) and the U.S.-based National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (NCUSCR) via video link on Nov. 26, 2025.
More than 30 experts and scholars from relevant fields across China and the United States attended the event, focusing on topics including artificial intelligence and human rights protection, as well as deepening people-to-people exchanges and cooperation on human rights between the two countries.
The symposium was co-chaired by Li Hongkui, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CFHRD, and Stephen A. Orlins, President of NCUSCR. The attendees noted that the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology has exerted a profound impact on human rights protection, adding that strengthened dialogue and exchanges on human rights between China and the United States are conducive to advancing the cause of human rights in both countries and across the globe.
Launched in 2009 with the active promotion of Chinese and American experts such as Huang Mengfu and Jerome A. Cohen, the China-U.S. Symposium on Justice and Human Rights serves as a people-to-people and institutional platform for dialogue and exchange on human rights. It has played a positive role in enhancing communication and understanding on the rule of law and human rights issues, and promoting people-to-people friendship between the two countries.
