The kick-off ceremony of the "New Sunrise Project–2026 Spring Festival Special Program for Middle-aged and Senior Citizens" was held at China Education Television on September 9, 2025.
Supported by the Health Community Development Fund of the China Foundation for Human Rights Development, the event was co-hosted by China Education Television and the China Association of Universities for the Aged. Representatives from the sponsors and organizers, outstanding middle-aged and senior art troupes, as well as corporate partners supporting public-interest initiatives attended the kick-off ceremony.
The event aims to provide a national platform for middle-aged and senior art enthusiasts to showcase their talents and enrich their spiritual and cultural life. Through artistic performances, the program seeks to promote a positive view of aging and foster a social ethos of respecting and caring for the elderly, encouraging broader public engagement in the development of cultural programs for the elderly.
Centering on the cultural needs of the middle-aged and senior groups, the event is open to art lovers aged between 45 and 75 nationwide, with extensive solicitation of talent programs in five categories, including singing, dancing, language performances, talent showcases, and traditional opera and miscellaneous arts. The selected works will be broadcast on China Education Television and other platforms during the 2026 Spring Festival holiday.
