From March 9 to 16, a delegation of the China Foundation for Human Rights Development (CFHRD) attended the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.
During the session, the delegation participated in more than 10 agenda items, including annual panel discussions and interactive dialogues on children's rights, counter-terrorism, privacy, the situation in Iran and other topics, as well as general debates under Agenda Items 3 and 4. It also delivered a speech successfully during the general debate under Agenda Item 3.
The delegation hosted a side event on reducing inequalities and promoting the right to development, and observed about 10 other side events on topics including environmental rights, children's rights, climate change, human rights due diligence for businesses, public services, as well as human rights and sovereignty in the context of geopolitics.
The delegation conducted eight exchange meetings, visited international institutions including the South Centre, and exchanged views with representatives of the Third World Network, the Universal Rights Group, and the International Association for Human Rights and Social Development, among other organizations.
On March 17, the delegation departed Geneva for Beijing.
