A public awareness campaign titled “Anti-Fraud for All, Lifelong Protection” was launched in Beijing on June 29 as part of the 2026 “National Anti-Fraud in Action” publicity month.

The campaign was jointly initiated by the China Foundation for Human Rights Development (CFHRD) and China Life Foundation to raise public awareness of telecom and online fraud and strengthen fraud prevention.

Zhou Shuchun, executive vice-president of CFHRD, said combating telecom and online fraud is not only a matter of public security, but also an important part of safeguarding the rights and vital interests of families.

“Effective anti-fraud efforts require coordination across society, bringing together policy guidance, professional institutions and greater public awareness,” Zhou said.

Li Zhuyong, president of China Life Insurance (Group) Company, said the company will continue to strengthen cooperation with law enforcement authorities, government departments, communities and businesses, leverage its professional expertise and expand the reach of anti-fraud education to help protect people's property.

As part of the campaign, offline public awareness activities will be held in Beijing, Xi'an, Nantong, Xinyang and Chaozhou. An online initiative has also been launched to collect exemplary fraud-prevention cases involving older people, with the aim of using accessible, real-life examples to improve their ability to identify and avoid scams.

The campaign has also introduced an anti-fraud public education course led by the China Software Testing Center and developed with experts in law enforcement, financial risk, elderly psychology and education. Experts from the People's Public Security University of China and other institutions reviewed the course to provide professional support for anti-fraud education.

At the launch ceremony, Zhang Zequn, a host with China Media Group, was named an anti-fraud public awareness ambassador, while certificates were presented to the campaign's first group of anti-fraud volunteers.

Following the ceremony, experts and volunteers gave older participants practical guidance on identifying and preventing fraud. Students from Beijing Police College also staged a scenario-based performance recreating the process of a telecom and online fraud scheme.

The campaign seeks to mobilize broader social participation in fraud prevention and bring practical anti-fraud information closer to communities and vulnerable groups.
