From August 9 to 11, a specialized training program for elderly care workers, organized under the China Foundation for Human Rights Development’s “Rural Revitalization and Senior Care Program,” was carried out in Kuangou Village, Shirengou Township, Fengning Manchu Autonomous County, Chengde City, Hebei Province. Nearly 30 locally certified trainees attended the training, systematically learning professional caregiving skills and bringing specialized support to disabled and care-dependent elderly people in rural communities.

The training combines classroom-based theoretical instruction with hands-on practice in local households, balancing foundational knowledge, practical relevance, and hands-on skills. Professional instructors from Shanghai Shuyi Liankang Technology Co., Ltd. provided step-by-step guidance on practical caregiving skills, including repositioning, pressure sore prevention, and personal hygiene and care. Nutritionists from Meyer FSMP Hong Kong Limited explained nutritional assessment and dietary guidance for older adults in rural areas. Experts from Fengning Manchu Autonomous County Hospital conducted specialized training on common emergencies in rural areas and emergency response procedures. The principal of Fengning Qihui Vocational School delivered a special session on professional ethics and workplace competencies, promoting closer alignment between local vocational education and the development of the “Hebei Fusao” brand. The overall course design ensures that participants can understand the knowledge, retain what they learn, and apply it effectively in practice.

The training received strong support from the Publicity Department of the Fengning County Party Committee, the Fengning County Civil Affairs Bureau, the Communist Youth League Committee of Fengning County, the Fengning County Social Work Department, the Fengning County Women’s Federation, and other relevant organizations. The medical team stationed in Kuangou Village by Chengde Medical University, together with Fengning Manchu Autonomous County Hospital, provided free medical consultations, while care experts from Shanghai Shuyi Liankang Technology Co., Ltd. visited villagers’ homes to provide targeted care services. The participation of multiple professional organizations brought diverse public welfare resources to the program.

The program will continue to provide regular training in caregiving skills, improve standardized procedures for in-home care services, mobilize diverse professional resources to support rural communities, foster local professional elderly care organizations, and continuously expand the pool of village-level care professionals. Through professional elderly care services, the program will contribute to rural revitalization while effectively safeguarding the health and dignity of older people in rural areas.
