On September 4, the public welfare project “Lighting Up Nutrition · National Nutrition Science Education Program,” jointly initiated by the China Foundation for Human Rights Development (CFHRD) and Meyer FSMP Hong Kong Limited, was launched in Beijing. Li Hongkui, vice president and secretary-general of CFHRD, Jia Zhidan, chairman of Meyer FSMP Hong Kong Limited, and other guests attended the kick-off ceremony.

Li Hongkui said that health is a fundamental right of the people and an important component of human rights protection. Nutrition is closely related to the quality of life and well-being of the general public, the elderly, and people with chronic diseases. The launch of the program aims to leverage the platform of public welfare to help address gaps in nutrition discipline development, talent cultivation, and public science education. It seeks to extend scientific nutrition knowledge and standardized services to grassroots communities, enabling the benefits of nutritional health to reach more people, and safeguarding the health and well-being of the people through public welfare initiatives.

Jia Zhidan said that the development of the nutrition and health sector cannot be achieved without the participation of public welfare forces. Meyer FSMP Hong Kong Limited hopes to leverage its professional expertise in the field of nutrition and health to contribute to public welfare initiatives. Relying on the public welfare platform of CFHRD, Meyer aims to provide tangible support to partner organizations in strengthening nutrition discipline development, cultivating professional talent, and promoting public awareness of scientific nutrition. Through continuous exploration and efforts to develop replicable models of public welfare collaboration, Meyer seeks to fulfill its corporate social responsibility.

The project focuses on the development of nutrition disciplines, the cultivation of professional talent, and the dissemination of public nutrition education, with the aim of enhancing nutrition and health service capabilities and improving public nutrition literacy. According to the project, the two parties have signed a cooperation agreement, under which Meyer FSMP Hong Kong Limited will make an initial donation of RMB 600,000 to the CFHRD. The funds will be dedicated to public welfare initiatives, including the standardized development of nutrition disciplines, innovative practices by young nutrition professionals, and the promotion of nutrition science outreach achievements. The project will continue to mobilize social forces and bring together nutrition and health professionals, specialized institutions, enterprises, public institutions, and caring members of society to create a joint effort in advancing the high-quality development of the nutrition and health sector and contributing to the Healthy China initiative.
